We die and die again
A Buddhist Approach To Death and Dying
Wednesday, October 30, 2019
5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
2701 Folsom Street, San Francisco, California 94110
The time of death is uncertain
At that time, only your spiritual practice will help you.
These three phrases are from the extended Meditations on Death, attributed to the 10th century teach Atisha. The extended nine meditations in our practice, help us die again and again.
Why is there such an emphasis on death and dying?
In this interactive workshop we will go through the nine points, experientally, and mentally, looking deeply into our true nature, and the nature of death.
*No one turned away for lack of funds. Contact North Bay Center for Compassionate Care directly for more information.
Meeting your beloved death : Exploring the edges of living
A daylong workshop on preparing for and learning to embrace the inevitable
On this day your life is decreased by one. Awaken, awaken, awaken.
We can’t ever control the circumstances around our death, but there are aspects we can demystify. The more we unpack, the more space we can create to live fully, or be more comfortable around our beloveds who are in active dying process. The practice of dying allows greater freedom and celebration of living. This class is for anyone who wants to develop a greater personal awareness and familiarity with death and dying.
Participants will all receive workbooks with tangible necessary documents. Included are:
Health Directives/ DNR Directives / 5 wishes / Health proxy responsibilities
Unpacking fears and experiences with death and dying.
Learning about the rights of home and alternative “green” funerals and ways to memorialize your life.
Planning for the best conditions of your death.
Planning your funeral/ ceremony/ memorial.
Write you own Death Poem.
